LIVE eight-hour, interactive stroke education class held via Zoom. This program is designed to provide you with the tools to manage patients with a diagnosis of and treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS), intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and transient ischemic attack (TIA) throughout the continuum of care from acute care to rehabilitation to prevention of secondary stroke.

Target Audience: 

Nurses, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals who are involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. 

The Mount Sinai Hospital is an approved provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Northeast Multistate Division Education Unit, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This course is offered for 8 hours of continuing education credit for nurses.

This course has not yet been provisioned for continuing education credit for other disciplines; however, it should fulfill the regulatory requirement for eight-hours of stroke education. 

Class Set Up & Logistics

Zoom Registration:

• Once you have registered on this site, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with information regarding Zoom registration and details. 
• Please do not share the Zoom link or registration details. This will aid with timely registration and accurate attendance. Additionally, only paid participants will receive credit.
• Note: It is encouraged for you to use your personal e-mails for Zoom registration, in order to ensure access to the log-on prior to the course. 

Class set-up/access:

• This course is a LIVE class, run via Zoom. Participation via polls/chat are vital to running a successful session and are included as part of attendance
• In order to fully view the sessions and participate in the questions, it is strongly encouraged to use a computer to access the course. Log-ins from phones and/or tablets often have difficulty participating in the content. 

Completion Certificates/CE Credit:

• In order to receive credit for the eight-hour class, you must attend the full session, participate in polls and interactive portions of the session, and complete the survey for the session. A >85% completion rate for the survey is required to continue to receive accreditation, so please be sure to complete the survey at the end of the session.
• Certificates are generated manually and will be sent out within 1 week of completion.

• Sessions throughout the day will be interactive, please participate in polls and join in the discussion!
• You are encouraged to turn on your cameras and engage with us.
• In order to track attendance, polls will be given throughout the day to ensure attendees are present and engaged with the material.
• Attendees who do not participate >80% of polls or conversation throughout the day may not receive credit for this session.
